Add Another Zero

10, 100, 1000, …

  • Start small—figure out how you can give $10 to your church; this can be the goal of a young child.
  • Once you have given $10, make a goal to add another 0 to your giving amount—now you are looking for an opportunity to give $100; this could be the goal of a teen.
  • Once you have given a $100, your new goal is $1000—this is now getting into the realm of, “What else could I do with $1000?” God may give to you so that you can give to others. Your tithe (10%) should be an automatic gift to your local church; an offering may be a gift above and beyond your tithe.
  • A $10,000 or $100,000 gift may never be in your abilities; but if you are not willing to give $10, how will God ever trust you to give $1,000,000?

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Proverbs 11:25

Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
