Facing Injustices Biblically

Christian’s reactions to injustice reveal his view of God and whether or not he is trusting and obeying God. You may find this material helpful to share with ladies in your church that may be facing difficult and hard-to-understand circumstances.

1 Peter 4:19

According to this verse, we are to commit our suffering to whom?

In summary, injustices occur because of man’s sinful nature and for God’s purpose. Christians should expect injustices to occur and endure them with patience knowing that God will deal with the unjust. Furthermore, Christians are not to take the responsibility to avenge but rather allow God, in His time, to correct/punish those who oppress them. Finally, Christians need to commit their trials to God, believing that God is in control.

Read Psalm 73. The author of this Psalm struggled with the seeming “success” of the wicked and those that oppressed him. But then halfway through the chapter, he realizes “their end.” Based on this passage and the passages you have already studied, can you trust God’s dealings with the unjust and with the injustices that you face?

Trust Him to know that He has a purpose for what you have faced or are facing.

Trust Him to avenge those that have wronged you.

Trust Him to give you comfort and refuge (peace) as you commit the injustices to Him.
