Notice How a Girl Treats Her Mom and How a Guy Treats His Siblings

  • The couple gazes deeply into each other’s eyes. They say, “I love you,” often. Will it last? Does each have the discipline, habit, and ability to love? A person’s capacity to love is probably judged best by some of their past relationships and not by the brand new shiny relationship that has yet to be tested.
  • If a girl wants to see a guy’s ability to love, she should notice how he treats his younger siblings. This will be his habit of love. His siblings need help, support, and sometimes guidance. Does he care about them and their needs? Does he help them at his own expense? Eventually he will treat her the way he treats his younger siblings.
  • If a guy wants to see a girl’s ability to love, he should notice the relationship she has with her mother, a person who close to her and responsible to help her and teach her. Does she listen to her mom? Does she include her in her life? Does she set aside her own desires to obey her mom? Eventually she will treat him the way she treats her mom, or another authority in her life.
  • All of us are in the process of “love one another.” Watching a person’s past relationships will give us an idea of the experience, tendencies, and habits in regards to “love one another.”

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 3:8–9

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
