Collect. Getting your horse collected means getting its attention and preparing it mentally and physically for the next challenge. Focusing your mind on a craft or hobby helps you relax and set aside the stresses and confusion of the rest of life for a period of time.

Camaraderie. Working with your hands alongside others doing similar things allows conversation and relationship building. A shared experience, celebration of small victories, and a companionable atmosphere aid this.

Cultivate. Hobbies and crafts helps people discover new interests and talents. Remembering enjoyable experiences and stirring up a new desire to learn and grow will be a helpful part in developing useful tools for service.

• Camp craft time needs to be about an hour long. This could be several hour blocks for longer camps, but progress needs to be significant in the first hour.
• Camp crafts need variety. There should be something for skilled and unskilled crafters. This includes age appropriate and gender appropriate options.
• Camp crafts need to be affordable. The actual cost of the craft includes the equipment and tools needed. Our all-in-one pricing covers the cost of a craft whose materials equal $2.50, and about $2.50 is assumed to go towards tools and equipment. The campers may choose to pay for crafts above that set amount, but we want to approximately double the cost of supplies in determining their cost.
• The craft room should be inviting and inspiring as you enter. The lighting should be good, the supplies readily available, and the atmosphere conducive to creativity and camaraderie.
