Ways to Use $100 Bill
Cold hard cash wakes people up like nothing else can. A $100 bill can be a great motivator to get input. Usually, you will benefit more from all the input; the $100 to the winner is the price you pay to learn everything else.
▪ During a staff meeting, allow everyone to nominate a tool or item costing $100 or less that would increase your productivity. Narrow it down to three through a primary vote, then vote on those three.
▪ During a staff meeting, let everyone nominate someone else who has a need. Give out 3×5 cards, and let them vote on the most deserving need.
▪ Hold up a $100 and ask your staff how long it takes your ministry to spend a $100. Take your total expenses from last year and divide it by 115,200 (60
minutes an hour for 40 hours a week for 48 weeks . . . this takes care of vacations, sick days, etc.). The answer is the amount of money your ministry spends every minute of the work day. Take that number and divide it into a 100; the result is how long your ministry can operate on a $100.
▪ Write a thank you note to some one who has been the greatest encouragement to your staff. Encouragers are worth their weight in gold. The $100 bill is pittance compared to what the encourager does for your ministry.
